"Digital Questions & Answers"
1. How long will digital prints last? The manufactures have finally made inks that have tested to last for 200 years. This far exceeds anything available with film. |
2. What is the resolution of the digital camera? The cameras used by Sunset Photography have a resolution of 5.0 megapixels or larger. Files range in size from 2.8MB to 17MB. This is more than high enough resolution to produce very large images. |
3. How many images can you take during one event? The number of images stored on a digital media card is determined by the resolution size. However, due to the lack of film and processing costs large numbers of images can very easily be made. We carry many digital media cards and a lap top computer, so on site storage is nearly unlimited. In the studio all images are burned to a CD for archival storage. |
4. How large can prints be made from the digital image? To date we have created images as large as 24 X 32. They look great - even printed on canvas! |
5. What about retouching? Minor retouching - e.g. removing a blemish is fairly straightforward, and is usually included. Any digital file, of course, is optimized for color and exposure using both Photoshop and Paint Shop Pro. Certainly other retouching is possible and we can discuss those options. |
6. Will the camera ever lock you out from shooting while it's writing images to the digital media? This is a question that comes from those who own a point and shoot digital camera. However, with the professional cameras we use this is not a consideration. The buffer allow plenty of images before having to read over. |
7. Can any file on the digital media be turned into a black & white image? Yes. Any image can be Color, Black & White, Sepia Toned or even Black & White with a touch of color, and much more. |
8. What happens if the digital camera fails? The same as a film camera! Backup equipment is essential with any professional photographer. I use two digital cameras when creating images of your special day. |
